In early 2021, Salesforce design partner GroupGSA approached Manapan to create a bespoke table for Sydney’s Salesforce Tower. Initially specified with American timber and Australian stone, Salesforce entrusted Manapan to craft a carving representing their journey to Australia.
The Yolngu team’s craftsmanship shines in ‘The Salesforce Journey’, a 6.7-meter-long, 1.3-meter-wide multipurpose table. Crafted entirely in Arnhem Land, it was transported by sea and land to Sydney. Manapan collaborated with Workarena for seamless delivery and final installation at Circular Quay.
The Salesforce Story unfolds through an artistic carving along the table’s centre, a collaboration between Manapan Craftsmen and Salesforce’s design team. Beginning with San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge at one end, it traces Salesforce’s journey of expansion and community-building to Sydney Harbour at the opposite end, symbolising the journey that unites the Salesforce family.
Highly skilled craftsmen devoted over 300 hours at Manapan’s workshop in Arnhem Land to create this piece and perfect the hand-carved spine of Tasmanian Blackwood that runs the table’s length.
